For target shooting the 243 WSSM and the 6.5 Grendel will both remain supersonic out to 1000 yards and have bullets commonly available in high ballistic coefficient designs suitable for those tasks. For bigger game the 25 WSSM and the 30 OSM (and eventually the 30 RAR) will safely take larger game more humanely. For long range shooting or hunting the 243 WSSM, the 6.5 Grendel and the 25 WSSM will easily provide greater knock down power at longer ranges. There are several rounds that out perform it. Its a commercial reality.Īs I said, and I didn't intend to get into any sort of 6.8 versus 6.5 pissing match, but the 6.8 is merely a good round.
